Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

“We eat food that makes our body strong.”

“You are building your growing body now and we want to use the highest quality materials to build with- that is healthy food.”

These are two sentences I find myself saying often along with more explanations why ‘sugar+water+purple+flavor’ popsicles are not good for us. Tamara told me it isn't fair that I don't give them treats (which I do, just not often enough in her opinion.). I tried to explain that to me it isn't fair to give a growing body treats (this means store-bought and not homemade) as they wreak havoc on our health. I try to explain that she is the lucky one that is able to eat nourishing sweets and homemade treats that build her body.

I hope this will be effective in our battles against processed sugary ‘treats’.

Here is another strategy, a constant stream of homemade goodies. Popsicles, marshmallows, gummies, freezer fudge and recently strawberry frozen yogurt.

4 ingredients, no added sugar, and it takes only 10 minutes of hands-on time. That's a home run recipe.

What is extra great about this one is that it doesn't even call for maple syrup or honey. Just dates and frozen fruit. Love it.

Nourishing, probiotic yogurt, fresh fruit, and dates. I just can't get over how simple and wonderful this is.

Strawberry Frozen Yogurt

½ cup full-fat yogurt

⅓ cup dates pitted and soaked in warm water for 15 minutes

2 cups frozen strawberries

1 frozen banana

Blend the dates and yogurt together until smooth. Place in the freezer for ten minutes. Blend sweetened date yogurt with frozen fruit until smooth.
